MARCH NEWS

Dear Parents,
The beautiful sunshine promises spring is coming soon, but I don’t think winter is quite through with us yet. Due to the wet conditions, I would encourage the students to pack extra socks and even a change of pants, in case of falls outside.
The students have been busy writing their persuasive speeches at school. In the next couple of weeks they will be bringing them home to memorize in order to present them to the class. As they get closer to completing the writing portion, the date will be in their agendas. Please watch for it!
Thank you for continuing to read with your children. I hope the PM eCollection website has been helpful to you.
We have some special days coming up next week. We are celebrating Winter Carnaval! These are the special theme days:
Monday, March 8 - celebrate Quebec with blue and
white day
Tuesday, March 9 - toque day
Wednesday, March 10 - Lumberjack day- bring out your
best plaid
Thursday, March 11 - Arrowed sash day (like Bonhomme
Carnaval)
Just a reminder that Friday, March 12 is a Board Holiday (no school).
On March 17 we will be celebrating St. Patrick’s Day. Students are encouraged to wear green.
Here is what we are learning this month:
Religion - Lent/Holy Week
Language - reading comprehension, persuasive writing
Math- measurement unit, patterning
Social Studies - Global Communities
Science - Air and water
Thanks for your continued support. If you have any questions or concerns, feel free to contact me at the school.
