Letter to Parents/Guardians - News for 2016-17
Published on Jun 27, 2016 20:56

Dear Parents & Guardians:

It has been a very productive and busy year.  We thank each and every one of you for your support in creating a school community that promotes, in our students, a faith relationship with Christ and a sound academic education so that they will be able to live fully today and to meet the challenges of the future.

Our new junior kindergarten students will be sent a letter in July providing them with a date and time of a classroom visit.  These junior kindergarten classroom visits, with their new teachers, will take place during the first week of school, as noted in the letter. Senior kindergarten classes will begin on Tuesday, September 6, 2016, the first day of school.

Father F.X. O’Reilly students will find out who their teachers are (these are tentative) and which class they are in on September 6, 2016, the first day of school.  Classroom assignments will be finalized in mid to late September when we know our exact enrolment.  There is a provincial mandate that classes from 1 to grade 3 are not to exceed 20.

New for the 2016/2017

On the first day of school all students will return to the same line-up, same classes and same teacher as this school year.  The same teacher that they enjoyed this past school year will greet them.  Each teacher will then bring their former class into the school and students will be placed in their new classes, with their new teacher, throughout the morning. I know its an exciting time for everyone, but parents will need to wait until the end of the first school day to hear from their child who their new teacher is, as there just isn’t room in the school to accommodate all of the students and all of the parents.  All current JK/SK Kindergartens—those going into SK and grade 1--will return to their previous line-up area, and therefore need to be dropped off in the fenced-in Kindergarten area.  I thank you for your understanding.

Best wishes to everybody for a fantastic summer.

 Sincerely,
Joan Stephenson
